I am Alessia Dei Rossi, and I am a PhD student in Molecular Sciences in the Protein Chemistry Laboratory at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Padua (Italy) under the supervision of Prof. Vincenzo De Filippis. My current research is focused on studying the relationship between amyloidosis, thrombosis and infectious diseases from a molecular point of view, by investigating the interactions between amyloid fibrils and amyloid precursors with different proteases and coagulation factors. In particular, I am studying the effect of amyloid fibrils on the function of coagulation factors, in order to understand the molecular mechanisms that trigger blood coagulation.
