Joke Konings, PhD, senior scientist at Synapse Research Institute.
Joke studied Biomedical Sciences at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. She obtained her PhD in 2014 at the university of Maastricht, with a research topic on the role of coagulation factor XII in fibrin clot formation and fibrinolysis. After her PhD, she started working at Synapse Research Institute. Her main focus is on thrombin generation, particularly in whole blood, and on the validation of coagulation assays and coagulation analyzers to improve diagnostics.
