My name is Ciara Byrne and I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. I am currently researching Von Willebrand factor, its clearance and its functions. My PhD was focusing on haemophilia and factor viii knockout mice. Currently, I work mainly with in vivo and ex vivo techniques but also have experience with in vitro methods. I am particularly interested in modulators of VWF levels in people, thrombosis and the VWF-inflammation axis but I also retain a passion for FVIII inhibitors and FVIII biology.
