Yerevan, Yerevan, Armenia
My name is Liana Hambardzumyan, I am a hematologist from Armenia and currently I do my practice at the Hemophilia
and Thrombosis Center of the Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center (the only hematology center in Armenia).
My journey in medicine began at Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU), where I completed my Master's Degree in General Medicine in 2019. During my years at YSMU, I worked diligently, earning a diploma with honors and a nominal scholarship in my final year. Following my graduation, I embarked on a residency in Hematology at the Hematology Center after Prof. R. Yeolyan, where I served as chief resident from 2019 to 2022.
In October 2022, I took on the role of a hematologist at the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center in Yerevan. Here, I specialized in managing complex hematological conditions, including hemophilia and thrombosis. My clinical experience was further enriched by my involvement in a phase II clinical study in hematology in 2023, where I contributed as a sub-investigator.
Throughout my career, I have sought to continually enhance my skills and knowledge. I have successfully passed the European Hematology Exam. My training has taken me to renowned institutions such as the ISTH Reach-the-World Fellowship and the Division of Hematology and Hemostaseology at the University Hospital Vienna.
Research has always been a cornerstone of my professional life. I am proud to be a member of several esteemed professional organizations and to have the privilege of presenting my work at numerous international conferences. My research has covered a broad spectrum of topics, from chemotherapy-induced thrombocytopenia and immujne thrombocytopenia to the complexities of diagnosing autoimmune disorders.
In January 2024, I began my tenure as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Department of Hematology and Pediatric Oncology at YSMU.
