Emily Martens has been working as a PhD student under the guidance of Prof. Dr. F.A. Klok and Prof. Dr. M.V. Huisman at the Department of Medicine - Thrombosis & Hemostasis - Leiden University Medical Center in the Netherlands since February 1, 2022. She completed her medical studies at the University of Groningen and acquired clinical expertise as a medical doctor at the Department of Gastroenterology (Haga Hospital – The Hague) and the Department of Medicine (Groene Hart Hospital – Gouda). Her research focuses on the diagnostic management of venous thromboembolism, with a particular interest in thrombotic complications in cancer patients.
