Dr. Hardesty is an adult hematologist at the Indiana Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center specializing in hemophilia and sickle cell disease. He graduated from The Ohio State University and completed his residency and hematology fellowship at Indiana University. He further specialized in classical hematology under the mentorship of Anne Greist. He has special interest in comorbidities that accumulate in persons with hemophilia as they age, acquired hemophilia, and the use of point-of-care musculoskeletal ultrasound to monitor joint disease in hemophilia. He has served as an investigator in multiple clinical trials investigating hemophilia treatments including gene therapy and has multiple publications in the areas of hemophilia, plasminogen deficiency, and sickle cell disease. Dr. Hardesty is currently leading a multicenter study investigating age related comorbidities and interventions to reduce cardiovascular risk factors.
