Dr. Jenne is a professor at the University of Calgary. Dr. Jenne holds appointments in the department of Microbiology, Immunology and Infectious Diseases, the department of Critical Care Medicine, is cross appointed to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and is the Canada Research Chair in Imaging Approaches Towards Studying Infections. Dr. Jenne’s research uses intravital microscopy to study host-pathogen interactions and their role in the inflammatory response to bacterial and viral infection. In particular, the Jenne lab has a focused research interest in the interface between inflammation and coagulation and has utilized intravital microscopy to directly visualize processes leading to immunothrombosis in the living animal. This multi-disciplinary research focus using advanced, cutting-edge imaging technology has allowed Dr. Jenne to establish a competitive and cross-cutting training program at the UofC that provides mentorship of trainees through basic science, human and veterinary medicine, and strong industry collaborations.
