Dr. Mettine Bos is a protein chemist with a special interest in the biochemistry of blood coagulation. Her research focuses on structure-function aspects of blood coagulation proteases and cofactors, with the overall goal of developing innovative therapeutic proteins or identifying novel targets for the treatment of either bleeding or thrombosis. Her research has led to high impact publications and to several inventions that have been filed as (licensed) patent applications. Dr. Bos is current director of the Einthoven Laboratory for Vascular and Regenerative Medicine at the Leiden University Medical Center, chair of the European Thrombosis and Haemostasis Alliance (ETHA), editorial board member of the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, and serves in several ISTH/ASH committees.
