Professor Nicola Mutch is a Personal Chair University of Aberdeen, Scotland. She studied at the University of Aberdeen specialising in haemostasis, thrombosis and vascular biology before carrying out a post-doc at the University of Illinois. She returned to the UK to take up an independent fellowship at the University of Leeds and was awarded a personal fellowship from the British Heart Foundation to return to the University of Aberdeen. Prof Mutch has served leadership roles in national and international community, including the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, including Chair of the SSC of the ISTH; Local planning committee for ISTH London 2022; Chair of basic science on the Annual Congress Planning Committee 2024 and past President of the British Society of Haemostasis & Thrombosis. Prof Mutch serves on the Editorial board of the Journal of Thrombosis & Haemostasis, as an Associate Editor for Frontiers and an Editor of Platelets.
