Jordan Shavit, M.D., Ph.D. is a Professor of Pediatrics and Human Genetics and the Henry and Mala Dorfman Family Professor of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the Univerity of Michigan, and cares for patients with bleeding and thrombotic disorders. His research interests are in “clinically directed basic science” using zebrafish as a model and his work is currently supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Shavit has been previously supported by the Hemostasis and Thrombosis Research Society (HTRS), the American Society of Hematology (ASH), the National Hemophilia Foundation, and the American Heart Association. He is a former member of the Medical and Scientific Advisory Council (MASAC) of the National Hemophilia Foundation and past chair of the ASH Megakaryocyte and Platelet Scientific Subcommittee. He is an elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation and the American Pediatric Society, an elected fellow of the American Academy for the Advancement of Science, and current Vice President/President-Elect of HTRS.
