Tim Dreier studied medicine in Vienna and graduated as MD in 2023. During his studies, he completed clinical rotations in Germany and Austria (Cardiology, Hematology, Trauma Surgery, Critical Care Medicine) and a hemato-oncology centered internship at the Department of Molecular Pathology in Vienna. His diploma thesis focused on experimental parameters for assessing blood-vessel impairment on the cellular/molecular level in critical care patients with sepsis and COVID-19.
In September 2023, Tim enrolled in the “vascular biology” PhD-program at the Medical University of Vienna. Under the supervision of Ap.Prof. Priv.-Doz.in Dr.in Johanna Gebhart, PhD, his main focus is on the investigation of endothelial injury/impairment in patients with mild-to-moderate bleeding disorders, including bleeding disorder of unknown cause. To this end, he currently works on the Vienna Bleeding Biobank, a prospective cohort study on patients with mild-to-moderate bleeding disorders.
