Dr Shapiro is a Consultant Haematologist and works entirely in the field of haemostasis and thrombosis. She is Head of Department for the Oxford Haemophilia and Thrombosis Service, and is the National Speciality Advisor for NHS England for Specialised Blood Disorders. She is actively involved in several national haemophilia working parties (comorbidities, VWF, gene therapy) and clinical trials with the aim of improving patient care and access to treatments.
