Dr Bella Madan, MD,FRCP,FRCPath is a Consultant Haematologist at The Centre for Haemostasis and Thrombosis, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London, United Kingdom.
She attained her MD at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh. After completing her Haematology specialty training at United Medical Schools of Guys’ Hospital and St Thomas’ Hospital, she was appointed as lecturer there. She has worked as a Research Fellow at Duke University, North Carolina, USA.
Dr Madan has a keen interest in novel therapies for bleeding disorders and actively participates in clinical research. She has an excellent record of recruitment in phase 1/2/3 gene therapy trials for Haemophilia. She has been Principal Investigator in over 25 clinical trials in patients with haemophilia, fibrinogen disorders, von Willebrand disease and several other bleeding disorders. She has a keen interest in novel treatments for bleeding disorders . She also has a passion for obstetric and gynaecologic management of women with bleeding disorders and has been part of the UKHCDO Obstetric Taskforce and co-authored the guidelines on obstetric management of women with bleeding disorders.
