Rukhmi Bhat MD, MS, DNB, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She holds leadership positions within the hospital, including Section Head of Hematology, Director of Thrombosis, Co-Director of the Hemostasis and Thrombosis Program, and Co-Chair of the Safe Anticoagulation Committee. Nationally, she is the thrombosis expert
for the STARZL Alliance of Pediatric Liver Transplant Surgeons’ Network. Internationally, she is one of the founding members of the International Pediatric Thrombosis Network (IPTN), co-chair of the Neonatal thromboembolism working party of the International Pediatric Thrombosis Hemostasis Society,
Scientific Sub-Committee (ISTH SSC). She conducts original research to study risk factors of neonatal thrombosis and is the site PI for several key national and international clinical trials in the field of pediatric thrombosis and hemostasis.
