Sue is currently working as a Quality Improvement Nurse, with a focus on VTE, at North Bristol Trust, UK.
Sue qualified as a registered nurse from St Thomas’s Hospital, London, in 1976; she then attended Queen Charlotte’s Hospital, London, and qualified as a midwife in 1977.
In 2005 Sue started, and ran, a nurse led DVT Service in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, moving to Bristol in 2009 to further her career, and become the Lead Anticoagulation and Lead VTE Prevention Nurse
She supported the Trust to become the 27th VTE Exemplar Centre
Sue is passionate about ‘all things VTE’, increasing awareness of both signs and symptoms of VTE, for both the general public and all Healthcare Professionals. This is achieved by working closely with Thrombosis UK (a charity which supports patients and HCPs , and arranges bi-annual Virtual conferences)
Last year Sue was one of the judges for the Thrombosis UK VTE awards
