The management of major obstetric hemorrhages remains challenging, requiring both surgical and medical interventions, sometimes resulting in hysterectomy. In this lecture, the use of recombinant activated factor VII in obstetric bleeding is reviewed, together with recommendations for appropriate use in this setting.
