Alessia Cucci, PhD. Department of Health Sciences, University of Piemonte Orientale, Novara, Italy
Dr Alessia Cucci completed her MSc in Medical Biotechnologies in 2017 at the Università del Piemonte Orientale, focusing on characterisation of FVIII promoter in iPSC-derived endothelial cells. She then went on to start her PhD at the same university; during that time her thesis was focused on extra coagulative roles of FVIII in endothelial cell functionality. As a MSc and PhD student, Dr Cucci had the opportunity to spend several months working at institutions such as European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg, Germany and the Institute for Transfusion Medicine and Gene Therapy at Center for Chronic Immunodeficiency in Freiburg, Germany. After finishing her PhD in 2021, Dr Cucci remained at Università del Piemonte Orientale as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist under the supervision of Prof. Follenzi. She is still there currently under Prof. Follenzi’s supervision, as a technologist in the histology laboratory.
