Ali Bulent Antmen, MD was born in Mersin in 1964. After completing his pre-university education in Mersin, he graduated from Istanbul University, Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty in 1987. He completed his pediatrics specialty education in 1992 in Çukurova University, Faculty of Medicine, and pediatric hematology subspeciality education in the Department of Pediatric Hematology Oncology of the same faculty. He was appointed to Assistant Professorship in 1993, Associate Professorship in 1999 and Professorship in 2005. He acted as an observative researcher in the bone marrow transplantation unit of The Royal Free Hospital, London in 1992.
As a member of the Çukurova University Medical Faculty Hemophilia and Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit, Professor Antmen has pioneered the performance of radioactive synovectomy and other orthopedic surgical procedures in hemophilia patients with and without inhibitors. He is currently working at the Department of Pediatric Hematology Oncology, Hemophilia Center and is the Director of the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Unit in Adana Acibadem Hospital, Turkey. Professor Antmen is also a member of the Turkish Hemophilia Federation and Çukurova Hemophilia Association Boards.
