Toshiaki Shirai is an Assistant Professor at the University of Yamanashi. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Yamanashi in 2016. His research interests focus on elucidating the role of platelets in cancer. He has investigated the impact of the platelet activation receptor CLEC-2 on cancer progression and has developed methods to inhibit cancer progression by regulating platelet counts through TPO. Currently, he is working on developing safe anti-platelet therapies to combat cancer progression and cancer-associated thrombosis.
