Dr Gemma Leon (PhD) is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Preston Lab in the Irish Centre for Vascular Biology at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Her research focueses on examining the intersect between inflammation and coagulation in immunothrombotic disease. Previous studies investigated the role of activated Protein C as an immunomodulator in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and her current work examines the immunothrombotic state observed in myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) patients, and how innate trained immunity may contribute to this.
