Professor of structural biology
Department of Pathophysiology,Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine
Shanghai, Shanghai, China (People's Republic)
Zhou Aiwu attended Nanjing University's Department of Biochemistry from 1989 to 1997, where he earned his PhD. He then worked for 15 years at the Department of Haematology at the University of Cambridge, UK, before being officially appointed at the School of Medicine at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in April 2012. Since leading his research group in 2006, Zhou has used biochemical and structural biology techniques to analyze the structural changes and physiological functions of the Serine Protease Inhibitor (SERPIN) family and other related proteins of blood coagulation. His group has published several papers in journals such as Nature (2010, 2019), Blood (2009, 2012,2022), PNAS (2006), and Science Advances (2020) etc.
