Dr Jayashree Motwani
Consultant Paediatric Haematologist
Dr Motwani is a Consultant Paediatric Haematologist and has been with us since 2009 after completing her Paediatric haematology training in the West Midlands. She is one of the consultants that make up the consultant team for Leukaemia Service provision at the Children’s Hospital. As a team, they look after children with Leukaemia, both inpatients and outpatients.
Not only is she our Consultant but she is also the lead for haemostasis and thrombosis and Centre Director for Haemophilia Comprehensive Care Centre, the Vice Chair for the Scientific Advisory Committee of PEDNET and a member of the National Paediatric working party for Haemostasis & thrombosis and Genetics Working Party. In addition, she is a member of the Paediatric SIG of the BSH where she is responsible for providing care to children with bleeding disorders including Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) and thrombotic problems. Dr Motwanti is also involved in several research projects and trials in this field including newer long-acting recombinant factor products, TPO mimetics and newer novel anticoagulants.
She also looks after children with other non-malignant haematological conditions.
