Jameela Sathar, MD, MRCP, FRCPath

Dr Jameela is a Consultant Haematologist and former Head of Department of Haematology at Ampang Hospital, Malaysia where she was responsible for the care of patients with thalassaemia, haemophilia, thrombosis and bleeding disorders. She was instrumental in developing the national thalassaemia and haemophilia programs to improve the care of these patients in Malaysia. She was the chairman in developing the Clinical Practice Guidelines on Prevention and Treatment of Venous Thromboembolism and Management of Immune Thrombocytopenia. She is also currently developing the Clinical Practice Guidelines on Iron Deficiency. She co-founded the Malaysian Society of Patient Blood Management and is actively involved in promoting patient blood management programs to optimise patient outcomes.
