Daniel Steiner M.D. is a PhD student at the Medical University of Vienna, Division of Hematology and Hemostaseology under the supervision of Prof. Cihan Ay M.D. His research focuses on venous thromboembolism and its consequences, including epidemiological, clinical, and qualitative research projects on psychosocial sequelae, quality of life, and functional limitations. Further, he is interested in aspects of hemostasis in vulnerable populations, such as patients with cancer or end-stage renal disease on hemodialysis.
Prior to starting his PhD, Daniel Steiner studied Medicine at the Medical University of Graz, Austria, and graduated in July 2021. During his studies, he worked as a scientific assistant at the Division of Oncology in Graz and completed several rotations abroad, including at the Kantonsspital Sankt Gallen, Switzerland, and at the Huế Central Hospital, Vietnam.
