Xi Wu, M.D., a young investigator from Department of Laboratory Medicine, Ruijin hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine, Shanghai, China. Her research mainly focuses on laboratory diagnosis and pathogenesis of thrombotic diseases. She fristly reported prothrombin Arg541Trp mutation was associated with venous thromboembolism and proposed impaired protein C activation by thrombin was the main cause for this mutation.
