I am a young scientist with a keen interest in the interplay between infection, immunity, and hemostasis. My research journey began in June 2019 with a PhD focused on the role and regulation of extracellular matrix components in vascular diseases, such as atherosclerosis and aneurysms. In October 2022, I joined the ‘Leuven NETs Laboratory’ as a junior postdoctoral fellow. Currently, my work investigates how virulence factors of Staphylococcus aureus, which are involved in coagulation, affect immunothrombosis.
I am passionate about enhancing our understanding of host-pathogen interactions, particularly what can impact the dynamics between innate immunity and thrombosis, and identifying new therapeutic targets for infectious vascular diseases with the ultimate goal of improving patient health.
