Judith P.L. Verlaan, MSc, is a PhD candidate at the Department of Clinical Epidemiology, Leiden University Medical Center, Leiden, The Netherlands.
She finished her master's in bio-pharmaceutical sciences in 2022 at the University of Leiden and started her PhD under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Suzanne Cannegieter, Dr. Astrid van Hylckama-Vlieg, and Dr. Luuk Scheres. Her research focuses on exploring the link between body fat distribution and venous thromboembolism by investigating the key roles of sex, inflammation, and coagulation.
Next to her PhD, Judith is also enrolled in the Epidemiology-B track at the Department of Clinical Epidemiology.
