Professor Lai Heng LEE is currently a senior consultant with the Department of Haematology at Singapore General Hospital and National Cancer Centre, Singapore. She has a keen interest in Thrombosis and Haemostasis and was instrumental in raising the awarenes of venous throboembolism and the setting up of the anticoagulation consult and monitoring services to promote patient safety in anticoagulation therapy in Singapore. She played a key role in clinical trials in novel anticoagulants in Singapore and the Asia Pacific region. Her interest in haematology and coagulation research has resulted in numerous publications in peer reviewed journals. In administrative duties, she had served and completed her terms as Head of Department, Haematology and Chairman of Division of Research, Singapore General Hospital. Dedicated to teaching, she is actively involved in medical education with both Yong Loo Lin Medical School and Duke-Nus Medical school at National University of Singapore as well as haematology residency training with the Ministry of Health.
Besides her clinical, teaching and administrative durties, Prof. Lee actively contributed towards international professional societies in her roles as Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Society for Thrombosis and Haemostasis (APSTH), members of various subcommittees (WTD and DE&I) with the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH). Locally, she had served and held several leadership positions such as the treasurer and honorary secretary on the council of the College of Physician Singapore, President of the Singapore Society of Haematology and Chairman of the Chapter of Haematology, College of Physician, Singapore.
