Katsue Suzuki-Inoue M.D., Ph.D. Professor/Chairperson University of Yamanashi
Dr. Suzuki-Inoue is currently a professor of Department of Clinical and Laboratory Medicine at University of Yamanashi, as well as a chairperson of Department of Laboratory at University of Yamanashi Hospital. Her research interests include a role of platelets beyond hemostasis with a special interest on CLEC-2 and a biomarker for in vivo platelet activation. She received M.D. at Yamanashi Medical College, and worked as a resident of internal medicine at Kosei Nenkin Hospital in Tokyo. Then, she started research about platelet biology under supervision of Dr. Yukio Ozaki (former council of ISTH) at Department of Clinical and Laboratory Medicine, Yamanashi Medical College. After she received Ph.D., she worked as a post doc. in Steve Watson’s lab, also a platelet lab, in Oxford. She then returned to Yamanashi and has been working there until now. Her research life is full of platelets.
