Dr. Bartlomiej Kalaska is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacodynamics and Vice-Dean of the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Medical University of Bialystok, Poland. His research primarily focuses on preclinical studies related to searching for safer antithrombotic therapy using nanotechnology and analyzing the mechanisms responsible for the development of noncommunicable diseases. He has received the Young Investigator Award Thrombosis from the European Society of Cardiology, Merit Award at the World Biomaterials Congress, scholarships from the Minister of Health and the Minister of Science and Higher Education, as well as the Rector's awards. Dr. Kalaska’s research has been published in basic science journals including Translational Research, Biomacromolecules, Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, European Journal of Pharmacology, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Biomaterials Science among many others.
