Hanchen Gao is a master's student majoring in hematology at the First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine (FAHZU). Under the guidance of her supervisor Dr.Jiansong Huang, she has been engaged in researches related to the megakaryocyte maturation, platelet production and platelet functions.
During her time at Zhejiang University, she conducted basic researches on congenital megathrombocytopenia. The deletion of the ACTN1 led to dysfunction of megakaryocyte maturation, resulting in a decrease in platelet count and ultimately leading to platelet dysfunction by inhibiting platelet mitochondrial function. Meanwhile, she is also very interested in the extraction of tryptanthrin from traditional Chinese herb (Isatidis Radix). Many in vitro and in vivo experiments have been conducted to verify that tryptanthrin inhibits platelet function by reducing GPlba.
