Thomas D.D. Kazmirchuk, PhD. MITACS Post-Doctoral Fellow, Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada).
Dr. Kazmirchuk specializes in AI-assisted drug design and rare bleeding disorders under the mentorship of Dr. Golshani - a pioneering scientist in the field of computational prediction of protein-protein interactions. He previously completed his Ph.D in Cell and Molecular Biology at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.
Tom uses AI and computation to design small peptides that disrupt the functionality of diseased proteins, such as those in platelet-type von Willebrand disease. He also has a keen interest in using AI technology to develop diagnostic kits. Candidate peptides can serve as potential therapeutics for protein-related diseases, or as new diagnostic tools for detecting proteins of interest. He is always looking for new collaborations and interesting problems to tackle.
