My name is Dr. Amrita Sarkar. I am Research Associate Scientist II at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. I am working in the field of thrombosis and hemostatis with Dr. Morti Poncz at CHOP more than 6 years now. My area of research interest is focused on platelet factor-4 dependent prothrombotic diseases like HIT (Heparin induced Thrombocytopenia), VITT (Vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia) and APS (Anti-phospholipid syndrome). I investigate the platelet biology and function, complement activation pathway related to these diseases. I work on therapeutic aspect of these prothromboic disorders to minimize the use of anti-coagulant to the patients.
