Chris Bresette, PhD. is a Post-Doc in Dr. David Ku’s lab at Georgia Institute of Technology. After receiving a Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering from the University of Delaware, he joined the Biofluids and Medical Devices Research Group at Georgia Tech. His research interests are measurement and prevention of arterial thrombi, the activity of von Willebrand Factor, and reducing clot burden in blood-contacting devices such as ECMO circuits. Projects include designing novel tests for measuring a patient’s risk of arterial thrombosis, investigating the impact of free thiols on vWF activity, developing methods of live 3D imaging large thrombi as they form, and running ECMO circuits in a large animal model.
