Dr. Yang completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and his Ph.D. degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. His Ph.D. training was performed at the Blood Research Institute of Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin under the mentorship of Dr. Roy Silverstein where he focused on platelet CD36 redox signaling in arterial thrombosis. He then stayed on at the Medical College of Wisconsin as a postdoctoral fellow jointly mentored by Drs. Brian Smith and Roy Silverstein in the field of oxidative cysteine modification. He furthered his postdoctoral training in Dr. Flaumenhaft’s lab within the Division of Hemostasis and Thrombosis where he focused on intravital microscopy and thiol isomerases in thrombotic disorders.
