Dieuwke Luijten is a medical doctor and PhD candidate supervised by Prof. Dr. F.A. Klok and Prof. Dr. M.V. Huisman, starting from 1 July 2021. She studied medicine at the University of Leiden and gained clinical experience as a medical doctor at the department of pulmonology at Haga Hospital, the Hague. Her research focuses on the clinical outcomes after a pulmonary embolism, in particular the prevention of long term symptoms (post pulmonary embolism syndrome) and the detection of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH).
