Alejandro Carazo, PharmD., Ph.D., Dept. of Pharmacology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Charles University. I am a trained pharmacologist with rich international experience. I obtained my Masters´ degree in Pharmacy (MSc.) at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Alcalá (Marid, Spain). During this time, i spent a 9-month Erasmus internship at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Charles University (Prague, Czechia). After obtaining my degree, i studied Ph.D. at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Charles University on the topic of molecular pharmacology of nuclear receptors (defended June 2017). As a part of this study, i spent a 3-month research stage at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Yeshiva University (New York City, NY, USA). After defending my thesis, i spent 2 years as post-doctoral fellow at the Institute of Molecular and Translational Medicine, Palacký University in Olomouc (Czechia). Since 2019, i am an assisstant professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Charles University. As a member of the Cardiovascular Research group, i am particularly focused on platelet physiology and reactivity in different metabolic diseases. I have recently spent a 3-month research stage at the Faculty of Medicine, Heidelberg University (Germany). In the year 2021 i got awarded a 4-year >270.000 EUR junior grant from the Czech Health research Council as the main researcher. Additionally, i collaborate in a number of adidtional grants as member of the research team. I have publiished a total of 38 papers with a citation record > 600 and a h-index of 16 (WoS data, March 2024).
