Dr. Ni received his M.D. (eqv.) and M.Sc. in Microbiology and Immunology from Anhui Medical University, China; PhD in Immunology from the University of Manitoba, Canada, and postdoctoral training in Department of Pathology from Harvard Medical School, USA. He is a full professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology, Department of Medicine, and Department of Physiology, University of Toronto, and a Senior Scientist of the Canadian Blood Services Centre for Innovation and St. Michael’s Hospital (Unity Health Toronto). Dr. Ni’s laboratory currently investigates the roles of adhesion molecules involved in thrombosis/hemostasis, and inflammation/immune response/thrombocytopenia and tumor metastasis. He is an expert of intravital microscopy thrombosis models and animal models of autoimmune thrombocytopenia (ITP) and fetal and neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia (FNAIT).
