Dr. Scott Woller Professor in Research, Intermountain Health, and Clinical Professor of Medicine, University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. Woller’s academic interests reside in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of venous thromboembolic disease. Dr. Woller has served as investigator on multiple clinical trials and is Co-Chair for the American College of Chest Physicians Clinical Practice Guideline that addresses antithrombotic therapy for venous thromboembolic disease. He has been named co-chair for the peer review committee of the inaugural AHA/ACC guidelines for the treatment of pulmonary embolism. He gratefully serves as an invited panelist for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on topics ranging from venous thromboembolism risk ascertainment, risk assessment model development, and electronic health record interface for diagnosis and outcomes ascertainment to inform quality metrics. Dr. Woller received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School, completed his residency at the University of Utah, then served as Chief Medical Resident. He is a recognized teacher and recipient of multiple teaching (2011, 2012, 2021) and patient care (2023) awards. Dr. Woller is governor of the Utah Chapter of the American College of Physicians (class of 2025) is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and attends at the Intermountain Medical Center, Murray UT where he serves as Chair of Medicine.
