Dr. Marisol Betensky is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Hematology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Director of the Thrombosis Program at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH). She received her MD from Universidad Anahuac in Mexico City, a Master in Public Health degree from Boston University, and completed her pediatric residency and hematology/oncology fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Betensky’s research focus is on the investigation of prognostic factors and the development of prognostic models of pediatric VTE outcomes, with an emphasis on the key adverse outcomes of recurrent VTE and the post-thrombotic syndrome. She is currently a junior member of the ISTH Pediatric SSC Working Parties on Post-thrombotic Sequelae and Antithrombotic Trials. She is a prior participant of the ASH Clinical Training Research Institute and a recipient of an HTRS Mentored Research Award.
