Dillon Bohinc is a 2nd year Ph.D. student in the Pharmacology Department at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. He completed a B.Sc. at Cleveland State University in 2021 and joined the Biomedical Sciences Training Program of CWRU in the fall of 2023. Over the past 5 years, Mr. Bohinc has worked in the laboratory of Dr. Evi X. Stavrou studying the role of coagulation factor XII (FXII) in chronic thromboinflammatory diseases such as diabetes. His research interests include structural studies of FXII, the interactions between FXII and neutrophils, and how zymogen and enzymatic functions of FXII interface in disease. Dillon’s research is funded by a U2C-TL1 training grant from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK). His work has been published in journals including Nature Nanotechnology, Blood and the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis. In 2024, he was appointed Co-Chair of the 2026 Plasminogen Activation and Extracellular Proteolysis Gordon Research Seminar (GRS).
