Dr. Lambert is a pediatric hematologist and associate professor of pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia with clinical and research interests in the inherited and acquired platelet disorders and immune dysregulation and has been working with patients with genetic platelet disorders.
She is the medical director of the Special Coagulation Laboratory at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Director of the Pediatric Platelet Disorder Program as well as a co-director of the Frontier Program in Immune Dysregulation, a multidisciplinary program dedicated to diagnosing and managing patients with complex disorders affecting multiple organs due to Immune Dysregulation. She recently became the directory of the new Pediatric Platelet Disorder Program at CHOP.
She completed her undergraduate degree at Rensselear Polytechnic Institute and her medical degree at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School (now Rutgers). She completed her residency and a Chief year at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and her Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Lambert completed a master’s in Translational Research from the University of Pennsylvania after her fellowship and since then her research has focused on the mechanisms of autoregulation of megakaryopoiesis and the role of genetics in the acquired and inherited platelet disorders.
She helped to establish the Pediatric ITP Consortium of North American, a large collaborative group studying therapies and impact of ITP in pediatric patients and a past Chair of the Operations committee. She is a Co-Chair of the multinational effort of ClinGen to characterize pathogenicity of variants in genes in Platelet Disorders and a previous Co-Chair of the ISTH Scientific Subcommittee on Genomics of Thrombosis and Hemostasis.
