Background: Vaccination against COVID-19 has proven to be one of the most effective preventive strategies to date However, the emergence of vaccines has also brought about severe adverse effects, such DVT, PE or acute arterial thrombosis at various levels, cerebral arterial thromboembolism, and thrombotic thrombocytopenia.

Aims: To present changes in coagulation tests, diagnosis, and treatment results of thrombosis caused by the vaccine against Covid-19.

Methods: This case series highlights 18 different cases who received an mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccine and subsequently developed venous thromboembolism. within 7 days after vaccination.From March 2021 to March 2022, a total of 18 cases suspected of vaccine-related thrombosis were referred to our hospital.

Results: The average age was 45.3±7.3 years. The ratio of women to men is 9:1. 16 of the patients were relatively healthy individuals who had not been hospitalized for any illness or health problems, prior to vaccination. The initial symptoms were occurred within 1 week after vaccination. Symptoms of thrombosis include severe unremitting headache, backache, abdominal pain, and chest pain.All of patients presented within 3 weeks of vaccination and typically reported initial symptoms within 1 week after vaccination. According to the CBC results PLT decreased in 6 cases, whereas it was markedly elevated in 7cases.. No changes in biochemical and urine tests. Blood coagulation tests showed no significant changes except in 8 cases: In 8 cases D-dimer level was increased from 1.5- 2.3 times compare to the maximum normal range. Fibrinogen level was increased in 2 cases (5.5-6.1 gr/L). In 4 cases PT was slightly shortened (9.8±,1.2 сек).

Conclusion(s): 1. Regardless of the type of vaccine against Covid-19., thrombosis raised
2. Thrombois occurred more frequently in female.
3. Early diagnose of thrombosis and combined use of antiaggregants and anticoagulants can prevent complications from Covid 19 vaccine-induced thrombosis
