PO12 - Observational study to describe the clinical impact of treatment patterns in people with mild to moderate hemophilia A in Spain - Lemon Study.

Background: Hemophilia A (HA) is a disease characterized by clotting factor VIII deficiency that can cause major bleeding and joint impairment. Traditionally, different degrees of severity have been established according to clotting factor activity levels: severe, moderate and mild. However, there are genetic and non-genetic factors that affect the hemorrhagic phenotype and may contribute to interindividual phenotypic variability.
Therefore, currently, clinical targets are evolving not only towards maintenance of FVIII levels, but also according to hemorrhagic phenotype, joint status, clinical conditions and quality of life.

Aims: To describe the clinical impact of the therapeutic strategy used in patients with mild or moderate hemophilia A in Spain,≥ 12 years of age.

Methods: Observational and cross-sectional study designed to collect information through a single visit in which specific questionnaires will be completed by patients/caregivers, Hematology and Pharmacy services. Retrospective data will be extracted from patients' medical records.
The main objective is to determine the main clinical characteristics related to mild or moderate HA, by recording the severity of the disease measured by blood FVIII concentrations, bleeding episodes, and the need for FVIII treatment Secondarily, treatment guidelines, joint status and outcomes through the CATCH questionnaire, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), physical activity and knowledge of hemophilia A, among others.
It is planned to include about 100 patients in approximately 21 sites throughout Spain.

Results: This study is ongoing. It has been approved by recognized Ethics Committees and is being carried out in 21 Hospitals in Spain to obtain a representative sample of the Spanish population (Table 1).

Conclusion(s): This study will provide the necessary data on actual clinical practice in patients with mild or moderate HA with the aim of covering one of the medical needs in the hemophilia community, contributing to the improvement of clinical practice, treatment and patient care.
