PB0553 - Epidemiological survey and data analysis of hemophilia patients in Henan Province of China

Background: Hemophilia is a rare hemorrhagic disease, and its distribution and treatment status are different in different regions.

Aims: To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of hemophilia patients in Henan Province of China.

Methods: Questionnaire survey was used to analyze the required data.

Results: 87.79% (1150/1310) of hemophilia A and 12.21% (160/1310) of hemophilia B were found. Patients with severe hemophilia accounted for 74.81% (980/1310), intermediate hemophilia accounted for 21.3% (279/1310), and mild hemophilia was 3.89% (51/1310). According to the age classification of patients, patients aged 0-18 years accounted for 51.37% (673/1310), aged 19-60 years was 47.71% (625/1310), and over 60 years was 0.92% (12/1310). Patients with no bleeding at all accounted for 2.37% (31/1310), patients with 1-3 times a year accounted for 16.95% (222/1310), patients with 4 or more times a year was 80.69% (1057/1310). Preventive treatment accounted for 42.98% (563/1267) and on-demand treatment accounted for 53.74% (704/1267). Patients with disabilities accounted for 32.82% (430/1534), patients with joint lesions (synovitis, synovial thickening, target joints, etc.) was 58.85% (771/1534), and normal physical indicators was 25.42% (333/1534). According to whether the patients had antibodies, 13.51% (177/1310) had antibodies, 39.39% (516/1310) had never had antibodies, and 47.1% (617/1310) had never been tested. 73.66% (965/1310) of the patients had serious impact on their life (adults lost work due to illness, students lost school due to illness), 25.19% (330/1310) of the patients had little impact, and 1.15% (15/1310) of the patients had no impact. The impact of hemophilia on family economic pressure: 88.93% (1165/1310) were seriously affected, 10.92% (143/1310) were not affected, and 0.15% (2/1310) were not affected.

Conclusion(s): The majority of patients in Henan Province of China are hemophilia A. Currently, most patients are still receiving on-demand treatment, and further promotion of preventive treatment is needed to reduce the disability rate of patients and reduce the impact on life.
